My family Newsletter sent to friends with email instead of posting cards can be found here. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17459523/Personal/Bernardi_letter_2013.pdf

Also this week, researchers are asking whether alcohol could be an effective treatment for us, and a look at the common question about what treatment is best.
Down in Featured Articles, I've included information about some of our symptoms.

Neuropathology in Skin May Be Source of Fibromyalgia
Biopsies of the palms of fibromyalgia patients have revealed an anatomic distinction that may explain the symptoms of fibromyalgia. Researchers have found an excess of sensory fibers innervating arteriole-venule shunts (AVS), structures involved in temperature regulation, in fibromyalgia patients.
“We’re asking about sensory innervation to vasculature: Could it underlie the pain, fatigue, poor sleep and cognitive issues characteristic of fibromyalgia?”

Top five holiday foods that promote cancer, diabetes, heart disease and premature death
The holiday food rush is on across the USA, and for the next month, Americans will be stuffing thei
r faces with precisely the kind of disease-promoting foods that will cause them to scream, "Where's my free health care?" in early January.
The conventional media will give you all sorts of stories about which holiday foods are "high calorie" or have too many grams of fat, but it seems no one in the mainstream media is willing to tell you the rest of the story: How to avoid the cancer-causing chemicals, toxic heavy metals, GMOs and artificial ingredients found in holiday foods.

Insomnia feeds on the minor details of modern life, like the soft blue glow from a cell phone, PDA, or digital clock resting on your bedside table. The short waves of blue light may interfere with sleep.
Tip: Turn off TVs, computers, and other blue light producers an hour before sleep. Cover any blue displays you can't shut off.

Fight Fibromyalgia Symptoms With A Healthy Diet
Symptoms vary between patients and mimic those of other conditions, making diagnosis especially difficult. In addition, there is no one specific treatment used for the 5 million Americans with fibromyalgia, reports the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Instead, patients may benefit from a combination of education, exercise, medication and lifestyle changes. Creating an awareness of nutrition and healthy living can also help manage the condition, and several dietary guidelines may be especially helpful, say the experts.
