FMS eNews 13/09/14

Alan and Jackie Bull's noughty (60 & 50) birthday party held in Horsham last Sunday was a great success. Guest of honour was Pam Stewart, chair of FMA UK who gave a talk about fibromyalgia and its effects, for the benefit of the non fibro people present.  Choral entertainment was provided by the Pleasure Singers, there were cakes galore, a magnificent raffle, bookstall, an auction, balloons everywhere and leaflets on every table about FMA UK and the Horsham Support Group. A good time was had by all and a goodly sum raised for the FMA UK research fund. Thanks go to all who supported it.
Still in National Fibromyalgia Awareness Week, the Horsham FM Support Group are holding an awareness stall at Newbridges Nurseries tomorrow from 10am-4pm.
The Sutton Fibromyalgia Pop In Club are holding a stall at Asda, Sutton tomorrow as well, with challenges!

Fatigue & Fibro Fog: Could You Have a B-12 Deficiency?

A feeling of being tired all the time. Problems with memory and concentration. Trouble sleeping. Diarrhea and/or constipation. These can all be important signs of the body’s need for more vitamin B-12.
Vitamin B-12 (cobalamin) is an essential nutrient, meaning it is required for normal body functioning but cannot be produced by the body.
Therefore, it is necessary to obtain the B-12 our bodies need through the food we eat and/or dietary supplements.

A personal  note from Vicky

I’m delighted to welcome Kay Baxter to the team.  Many of you will know Kay as she has covered classes for me. Apart from being an experienced (and very popular) Pilates teacher Kay is an experienced personal trainer  dealing in general fitness, weight loss and injury rehabilitation.  There has been quite a lot of interest in 1:1 training recently and I am limited to the amount I can do. I am delighted that with Kay’s help we develop this side of the business and accommodate more of you.

In one week's time, NHS England - who run our NHS - are holding their biggest decision-making meeting of the year. The meeting’s open to anyone, so this is our chance to be heard by the people making huge changes to our NHS.
But what’s the message we should be sending the people in charge of our NHS? Can you take this two minute survey to help decide?

Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles
Manufactured by Automotive Group

The Automotive Group was established over thirty eight years ago and since its inception have been involved with the design and adaptation of Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles. After extensive research, development and consultation our latest range of ultra-modern Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles makes transportation of wheelchair users a pleasure.

We also pride ourselves for the technology and comfort built into our design; so much so that we have included T and C within our company logo which depicts a Segedunum Domus the Latin word meaning "Strong Fort". The Romans used it many years ago as a name for their fort, the remains of which are still situated adjacent to our premises on the banks of the river Tyne Newcastle upon Tyne. As in Roman days we believe in the strength of technology, design and comfort being built into our product for the benefit and enjoyment of our customers.

What an inspiration the Invictus Games have been. How to triumph over adversity, and excel. I am duly impressed. Congratulations to Prince Harry and his initiative.  Congratulations and best wishes  too to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as they prepare for their second baby.

Fondest wishes to you all
Stella

N.B. I would like to point out to you that the information in my FMS eNews blog is passed on to you mainly from other sources.
Links are given to the original articles. I take no responsibility for their accuracy but freely give them publicity if I think they might be of interest to my readership. Sites I refer you to are for information only. They might conflict in their opinions, they might not even be medically sound, but I merely offer them for you to peruse and make your own judgements, accept or reject as you will. Only by reading widely can we get an overall picture of fibromyalgia syndrome and how we can deal with its symptoms, learn to cope with them and still have a life. Any advice or recommendation of a medical or legal nature should always be discussed with a qualified professional.
I also include various awareness items, benefits issues, as well as general health considerations. Anyone wishing to reproduce any of the included items in printed form should seek permission from the originators.
Wordz for the Week are from ‘Wordz for the Day’ by Donnie Kuhn, Sr. who died in May 2011.
This eNews is my personal offering to fibromyalgia sufferers and their carers and is not related to any other organisation or charity.
If you don’t already get reminders when each new FMS eNews is posted, please send an email to fmsstella@gmail.com and you will be added to the emailing list.
