Will the wet weather ever end?  Commiserations to you if you live in a flooded area. My daughter lives in Somerset quite close to the Levels that have received so much publicity of late, but fortunately where she is there is no flooding. Whatever our problems there is always seems to be someone else worse off.  Let us count our blessings.

Dr. Lapp’s Recommended Supplements for Fibromyaglia and ME/CFS By Bruce Campbell

Should you take supplements? If so, which ones and what benefits are reasonable to expect? What supplements should you take?
For some answers, we turned to Dr. Charles Lapp, director of the Hunter-Hopkins Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dr. Lapp has treated CFS and FM patients for over 25 years.  The clinic is one of the few medical practices in the United States to specialize in CFS and FM.

Nicola's Note

Hi everyone, the Chinese New Year is about to begin, so I would like to wish everyone 'Gong Hei Fat Choi'.  This month we have two new beginner Tai Chi evening courses starting in Horsham and Worthing. There is a push hands workshop for our improver level students and we have news of a summer gathering and annual World Tai Chi Qigong Day.  Our self-led Saturday class in Faygate is going well and is open to any student looking for an indoor space. A few students have asked if this class is set to a certain level of student, what I have advised is that if you are happy to practice on your own without formal instruction then you are welcome to join us on Saturdays. Wishing you all a warm and dry February. Please view over the February 2014 calendar
Regards, Nicola

The Flare - Christy and The Professors

"I've struggled with fibromyalgia and am in a rock band and I wrote a ROCK song about how I was treated by the medical community and thought it might resonate with others who have had a similar experience. I hope to inspire others. The song is called FLARE!"

Here are the lyrics, followed by a link to their rockin' YouTube video. Enjoy!

And they say that they think that it's all in my head
And I say that I feel I'd be better off dead
All the blood that they drew they could never be fed
Forget you

And they say that they know how I feel
And they say that they know what's for real
You're just a cog in a broken medicine wheel
Forget you

I-I am not your waste of time
Your pride is such a shameful crime
Your ignorance it blows my mind
Forget you

You think that you know me
But you'll never know me
You are such a waste of time

You think that you know me
But you'll never know me
I never gave you what's mine
Forget you

I-I am not your waste of time
No no you are so blind
I-I am gonna blow your mind
Forget you

The Sugar That Heals

Why a Muscle Sugar, D-ribose is Taken By Athletes & Auto-Immune Patients to Restore Energy...

D-ribose is essential for cell energy.  It is why cardiologists and sports doctors are telling marathon runners and athletes about it as a nutritional supplement.
It is why nutritionists are now telling people with fibromyalgia, lyme disease, chronic fatigue syndrome, restless leg syndrome, general fatigue, heart failure/heart disease/angina and those lacking in energy about how D-ribose can help restore energy levels, depleted by drugs and stress.

N.B. I would like to point out to you that the information in my FMS eNews blog is passed on to you mainly from other sources.  Links are given to the original articles. I take no responsibility for their accuracy but freely give them publicity if I think they might be of interest to my readership. Sites I refer you to are for information only. They might conflict in their opinions, they might not even be medically sound, but I merely offer them for you to peruse and make your own judgements, accept or reject as you will. Only by reading widely can we get an overall picture of fibromyalgia syndrome and how we can deal with its symptoms, learn to cope with them and still have a life. Any advice or recommendation of a medical or legal nature should always be discussed with a qualified professional.
I also include various awareness items, benefits issues, as well as general health considerations. Anyone wishing to reproduce any of the included items in printed form should seek permission from the originators.
